Online Bachelor's in Cybersecurity Programs in Ohio - Cybersecurity Majors

Nine universities in Ohio currently offer a total of 12 online bachelor’s degree options for students interested in cybersecurity and related fields. Two public universities in the state offer online bachelor’s in cybersecurity programs: Kent State University, and the University of Cincinnati. Students can also apply to one of Kent State University’s numerous regional campuses and pursue their degree online. The other six schools in the state are private institutions, which include: Cedarville University, Franklin University, Herzing University Akron, Tiffin University, Valley College (which has campuses in Ohio and West Virginia), and Walsh University. Collectively, these universities offer students the ability to pursue bachelor’s programs in cybersecurity, computer science, or information technology with concentrations in cyber management, software development security, digital forensics, information assurance, or cybercriminology.

All of the universities in Ohio listed on this page are institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), except for Valley College, which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Five of the schools also hold designations from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. NCAE-C designations indicate that a school has aligned its curriculum with federal standards jointly developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA). Cedarville University and the University of Cincinnati hold designations in both Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO). Franklin University and Tiffin University have both earned CAE-CD designations. Kent State University holds a CAE-CD designation, as well as a designation in Cyber Research (CAE-R).
