Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in North Carolina

Currently, there are four universities that offer online master’s programs in cybersecurity and related fields in North Carolina. East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T) in Greensboro, and North Carolina State University (NC State) in Raleigh are all public universities that offer multiple graduate degree programs in cybersecurity that can be completed fully online. Duke University is a private institution that offers a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity degree that requires one in-person residency on the university’s campus in Durham.

Each of these universities is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). They also hold different designations from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. NCAE-C designations are awarded to schools that opt into following federal curricular standards set by the National Security Agency (NSA) in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Duke, ECU, and N.C. A&T have earned Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designations. N.C. A&T and NC State have Cyber Research (CAE-R) designations.
