Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in North Dakota

There are two schools in North Dakota that offer master’s programs in cybersecurity. Minot State University (MSU), hosted in its namesake town of Minot, offers a Master of Science (MS) in Professional Studies with a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Management through its Graduate School. The University of North Dakota (UND), located in Grand Forks, offers an MS in Cybersecurity through its School of Electrical Engineering and Computer & Computer Science. UND’s program offers four separate certificate tracks in cybersecurity: Cyber Security Analyst, Computer Hacking Forensics, Ethical Hacking, and Secure Networks. Both MSU and UND’s online master’s programs in cybersecurity can be completed fully online with no required campus visits.
Both schools are public institutions and are regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Each school has also earned a designation from the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. MSU has earned the Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designation, while UND has earned the Cyber Research (CAE-R) designation. NCAE-C designations are managed by the US National Security Agency (NSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Schools can choose to align their cybersecurity curricula with the standards designed by these agencies in order to pursue one or more of their optional designations.
