Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in Colorado

Colorado has eight schools that offer a total of nine online master’s programs in cybersecurity. Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University (CSU), CSU Global, and the University of Colorado Denver are public institutions that offer online master’s programs in computer science, information systems, information technology, and data analytics with emphasis options in cybersecurity and related fields. There are also four private universities in the state, Colorado Christian University, Colorado Technical University, Regis University, and the University of Denver, that offer master’s programs in the field of cybersecurity. Through these private schools, students can explore programs with specializations or tracks in cyber criminology, cyber defense, cyber offense, cyber policy, cybersecurity engineering, cybersecurity management, and information systems security.
All the schools listed on this page have received regional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). In addition, all of the aforementioned schools except for CSU Global have earned optional designations through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. NCAE-C is a federal initiative that the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) jointly oversee, and which assesses college-level cybersecurity programs at institutions of higher education. Schools whose cybersecurity degree programs align with NCAE-C’s curricular standards can earn designations in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Research (CAE-R), and Cyber Operations (CAE-O). All of the schools in Colorado listed on this page, except for CSU Global, have earned the CAE-CD designation.
