Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in Illinois

Currently, there are six universities offering online master’s programs in cybersecurity in the State of Illinois. Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Springfield are two public universities in the state that offer online master’s in cybersecurity programs. DePaul University, DeVry University, the Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech), and Loyola University Chicago are all private universities that also offer online master’s programs in the field. Between these public and private institutions, students can explore fully online degree programs in cybersecurity, information assurance, cyber-physical systems, cyber and digital forensics, cybersecurity management, and more.
Each of these universities is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). All of the schools except for Eastern Illinois University have also obtained an optional Cyber Defense designation (CAE-CD) from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. NCAE-C designations are awarded to schools that decide to follow federal curricular standards set by the National Security Agency (NSA) in collaboration with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
