Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in Kentucky

Kentucky is home to eight schools that offer a total of 13 online master’s in cybersecurity programs. These include master’s programs specifically in cybersecurity, master’s programs in cyber engineering and cybersecurity data analytics, and master’s programs in computer science and information systems that have a focus in cybersecurity. Eastern Kentucky University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, the University of Louisville, and Western Kentucky University are all public institutions in Kentucky that offer online master’s programs in the field. In addition, the majority of these programs can be completed fully online with no required in-person requirements.

Seven of the eight schools in Kentucky have received and maintained regional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). American National University is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Moreover, several of these schools have earned optional designations through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program, which is a federal initiative run by the National Security Agency (NSA) in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The NCAE-C program has three designations for higher education programs in cybersecurity, which are Cyber Research (CAE-R), Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO). Currently four out of the eight schools in Kentucky that offer online master’s in cybersecurity programs have earned the CAE-CD designation.
