Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in Missouri

Missouri has nine schools that collectively offer 14 online master’s in cybersecurity programs that explore a wide variety of areas within the field. Missouri University of Science and Technology, Southeast Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis are public institutions of higher education that have online master’s degrees covering areas ranging from computer engineering to information systems and technology, information assurance and security management, and cyber physical systems. Private schools in Missouri that offer master’s programs in cybersecurity programs include Columbia College, Fontbonne University, Maryville University, Saint Louis University, and Webster University. Across these five schools, students can select cybersecurity-related areas of study such as cybersecurity management, business leadership in cybersecurity, cyber operations and engineering, technical cybersecurity, and cybersecurity with an emphasis on artificial intelligence or data analytics.

All nine schools mentioned above have received regional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Furthermore, Maryville University, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Southeast Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Webster University have earned optional designations through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program. NCAE-C is a federal government program that was established by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). NCAE-C designations include Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and Cyber Research (CAE-R). To earn one or more of these optional designations, colleges and universities must apply to the NCAE-C program, which reviews and evaluates degree programs to ensure they align with federal standards.
