Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has nine schools that offer a total of 15 online master’s programs in cybersecurity and related fields. Three public universities, Temple University, The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), and the University of Pittsburgh, offer online programs in cybersecurity, cybersecurity analytics and operations, cyber threat analytics and prevention, information science, information technology auditing and cybersecurity, and health information cybersecurity that give students advanced training in cybersecurity principles, strategies, and technologies for various industries. In addition, DeSales University, Drexel University, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, Mercyhurst University, Robert Morris University, and the University of Scranton are all private institutions in the state that offer master’s in cybersecurity programs covering a wide range of areas, including cybersecurity operations, cybercrime investigation, computer security and privacy, digital forensics, and more. Several of the online master’s programs in cybersecurity that are available in Pennsylvania also have additional concentration options, and/or optional graduate certificates that enable students to tailor their course of study to specific areas within the field of cybersecurity.

All of the nine schools mentioned above are regionally accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). In addition, several schools offer cybersecurity programs that have received optional designations through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program, which is an initiative that the National Security Agency (NSA) oversees jointly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). NCAE-C provides designations in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Research (CAE-R), and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO) to schools that undergo a curriculum evaluation and meet its programmatic criteria for course content and industry preparation.
