Online Master's in Cybersecurity Degree Programs in New York

There are 14 colleges and universities in the State of New York that offer 20 online master’s in cybersecurity programs. Programs are offered by public institutions, including SUNY Empire State University, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and the University at Albany (SUNY), and private institutions like New York University (NYU), Syracuse University, and Utica University. Schools in New York offer dedicated master’s programs in cybersecurity, as well as programs in information security, information technology, computer science, and software development that have concentrations or specializations in cybersecurity. Students may also pursue master’s programs in cybersecurity management, digital forensics, and cybercrime.

All of the institutions on this page have received regional accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). In addition, schools offering academic programs in cybersecurity may pursue optional designations through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program, which is managed by the National Security Agency (NSA) along with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The NCAE-C program has three designations that schools may pursue: Cyber Research (CAE-R), Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and 11 of the 14 schools in New York have obtained NCAE-C program designations.
